Admission Procedure

3 Years LL.B. Admission Guidelines

Per the Bar Council of India Legal Education Rules 2011 [No. 5(a)], candidates holding any undergraduate degree from a recognized university may apply. Applications are made through the Regional Samarth Portal of Assam State Higher Education under the supervision of the office of the Principal, Kokrajhar Law College, as per public notification. Admission is given only upon qualifying the Common Admission Test (CAT) — there is no direct admission.

Eligibility Criteria

A three-year bachelor's degree in any discipline (BA, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc.) with minimum marks:

Age Limits

• General Category: Maximum 30 years (as of 1st June of admission year)
• SC / ST / OBC: Maximum 35 years

Additional relaxations are governed by the Bar Council of India, UGC, and Bodoland University regulations.

Selection Procedure

1. Register at assamadmission.samarth.ac.in/cat/ and create your profile with the required information and documents.
2. Candidates appearing in the 6th Semester UG examination and awaiting results select "appearing / awaiting result"; passed candidates provide their testimonials.
3. Pay the fee and download the admit card for the Common Admission Test (CAT); check the centre, date and other details on it.
4. On qualifying the CAT, candidates willing to opt for Kokrajhar Law College must contact the office of KLC for admission.

Academic Regulations

1. Students cannot pursue concurrent full-time courses during LL.B enrollment.
2. Absence from classes for one month at a stretch from the date of admission results in the name being struck off the register rolls.
3. Class capacity: 120 (1st Semester), two sections of 60. Medium of instruction: English.
4. Candidates missing their first scheduled examination must pass within the next two consecutive attempts.
5. The LL.B degree must be cleared within five years of the first semester exam, with no more than three chances per semester paper.
6. Each theory paper: 100 marks = 70 (external) + 30 (internal assessment); clinical/practical papers carry practical marks as prescribed.
7. Pass marks: 13/30 internal; 32/70 external; 45/100 aggregate per paper.
8. End-semester exam duration: three hours per paper.

Admission Fees 2026–27

Yearly fees as per the Prospectus 2026–27. Fees can be paid directly through the online portal of Kokrajhar Law College.

Scholarships

Students from the SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories can avail the Government of India scholarship as per the notifications and circulars issued by the Government of Assam. Scholarship applications are submitted online through the GoI National Scholarship Portal as per the notified dates.
